What's In Store for Gay America...

Obama's Position Unclear on Proposed Chicago High School for Gay Students

Barack Obama has not taken a clear stance on a Chicago proposal for a high school geared toward gay students - set to be taken up by the school board next week.

We are all looking forward to Barack's decisive decisions when it comes to Gay America. Suckers!

well, honestly, I have mixed feelings on this subject myself. While I would like to see a safehaven for gay teens where they can learn and be themselves, I also see this as segregating ourselves. How will we ever be accepted if we distance ourselves.

Also, if they give gays a school to themselves, then it opens a can of worms for other minorities and specialty groups.

I can see how he would be unsure of how he stands. I think thats one of the best reactions I have heard on gay issues from a politician lately.

So "Yes, No, Maybe" is a good response? You want Obama to vote PRESENT on this?

Sadly, you may be right - it probably is the best reaction we'll hear on gay issues from a Democrat politician.

Just because he is undecided now doesnt mean he wouldnt take time to weigh his concerns before a vote. But I dont really want to take up for Obama here, Dale. He's part of the political machine and so is McCain. Its all acting and pointing fingers.

The thing is, Dale, I think you are part of it too. You have gotten so immersed in political BS that you spout their crap and point fingers as much as they do. Its more about who's on which side, who is a Republican or Democrat, not who has a brain or who deserves our vote.

Honestly, I dont see many with brains or who deserve our vote in either party.

I <3 you, Dale but we've got to get you a new hobby. :)

Respectfully...
I'm the one catching heat up here, being a gay Republican. If I hear one more gay Democrat asshole, and I do mean asshole, say Gay Republicans are like "Jews for Hitler" I'm going to punch him in the nose! And I will too!

The Democrats are suppose to be the great gay-friendly party - if they are the great gay party then why do the Democrats keep running away from us when we bring up gay rights? We have a Democrat-controlled Congress where we didn't even have a hearing on ENDA, DADT, or DOMA. This is gay-friendly?

One of the reasons I'm against Obama is that he's like a regular Democrat, just keeps pandering to us. And LGBT Democrats never ever confront these "gay-friendly" Democrats and ask - "OK, we elected you, where's my rights?". In Cleveland it's 100% Democrats in the mayor's office and city council, yet we still have no domestic partnership benefits - we don't even have a simple domestic partner registry. They haven't done anything gay. And the Stonewall Democrats have said they are going to re-elect them all, no questions asked.

I don't like Obama's taxes or "spreading the wealth" on anything above $250,000 (what's so magically about that $250,000 number?). I think it will put the brakes on the economy when we don't need brakes. We need people to take risk and chances to turn their small business into a medium or big business, to grow the economy. We are working on taking away risk out of all faucets of life and when Obama gets in we will be working to take away chance and opportunity.
