Environmentalist Next Target: Widescreen TVs

Liberalism 101: Hate America First

George Carlin on the Environment...

"The planet is fine. Compared to the people, the planet is doing great.

"It's been here four and a half billion years. Did you ever think about the arithmetic? Planet has been here four and a half billion years. We've only been engaged in heavy industry for a little over 200 years.

"Two hundred years versus four and a half billion, and we have the conceit to think that somehow we're a threat, that somehow we're going to put in jeopardy this beautiful little blue-green ball that's just a-floating around the sun?

"The planet has been through a lot worse than us, been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sunspots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles, hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages - and we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference?

"The planet isn't going anywhere. We are. We're going away."

The Supreme Court says Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, the justices' first major pronouncement on gun rights in U.S. history.

The court's 5-4 ruling strikes down the District of Columbia's 32-year-old ban on handguns as incompatible with gun rights under the Second Amendment. The decision goes further than even the Bush administration wanted, but probably leaves most firearms laws intact.

What's surprising is this ruling is close, 5 to 4. Imagine a Barack Hussein Obama court restricting our constitutional freedoms.

The only thing missing was a Celine Dion theme song...

Cleveland had their Gay Pride Festival at Voinovich Park, right on the shore of Lake Erie. The day was - interesting...

First, our Log Cabin Republicans of Greater Cleveland set up booth at our assigned area for the Festival. Our table was assigned right next to DENNIS! - the Dennis Kucinich table. But for some reason after we arrived, the Dennis! table 'had' to move. Maybe they were too close to the shoreline (we were slightly closer), maybe they were too far away from the entrance of the Festival, or wanted to be closer to the Messiah Obama booth.

But I like to think the "open-minded" Dennis group left because they did not want to be next to the Log Cabin Republicans.
The Dennis Kucinich team fleeing the scene!

Our Log Cabin Republicans of Greater Cleveland table did get about half dozen anti-social Democrats that wanted to pick a fight and lecture us more than debate. The most famous coming to our table screeching was Lakewood Ohio's out lesbian council-at-large Nicki Antonio. I forgot how it ended but some people near my table didn't want to be around me and her royal vapidness.

I got into an argument with completely different woman and I finally told her I'm not for socialism and nationalizing - which oddly enough she did not have a response to that part of the arguments. Plus I don't think she liked the idea of me pointing out the Democrat-controlled Congress in power since Jan 2007 has done NOTHING for LGBTs, especially on Don't Ask Don't Tell, which they might have a hearing on by the end of the year.

Actually, my straight Republican friend at our table, Michelle, does alot better debating than I do. I'm just too flustered debating Democrats, go dry, and want to ring Democrat neck. BTW - LCR had three Republican straights at our table helping that day, all there to help me out.

But the day wasn't over yet: A bigger storm was on the horizon, literally.

The skies were generally a little darker over the lake so I thought the storms would stay on the lake. Before 5 pm we got struck with very high winds.

Joe, Michelle, Patrick and Robert try to save our little fort. This video was before it got really bad.

With a few minutes after this video a wall of rain came with gale force winds. We tried our best to save our little site hoping it would be a brief storm but the wind was too strong and the storm had no intention of ending; it even bent our canopy frame. We had to very quickly take down the canopy and fold the frame up except for the legs and leave it behind a cement wall at the park, unpacked with its container - then run! The guys have already put anything on our table into my box, so getting out of there was the no-brainer.

But I stayed behind under one of the bigger tents but the storms wouldn't let up. The tent wasn't much protection either since people were getting wet. Umbrellas were useless. Heavy rain and gale force winds had to last for at least 40 more minutes. It was still raining heavily after that but I decided to make a run for the parking garage pushing my little cart with my items up the hill, the parking garage about 1/4 mile away. Soaked.

Needless to say, that was the end of Cleveland's Gay Pride Festival.

I stayed in my car in the parking garage for almost an hour with the storm still blowing high winds and rain. I was hoping the storm would die down. It was still raining when I left the garage but the umbrella was a little bit handier now. Parked next to the entrance of the Voinovich Park. Luckily my canopy was right were we left it. By the time I got to the canopy it stopped raining. By the time I left all packed, sunshine was on the horizon.

I still have a wet canopy in my car trunk that needs airing out - if it ever stops raining in Cleveland.

The moral of the story:

See what happens when you don't treat Gay Republicans right at Gay Pride Festivals.

God is on our side! :-)

Windfall Profit

Barack Hussein Obama has decided to opt out of the public funding for presidential campaigns. He would have gotten $85 million in public dollars (that little checkmark on your IRS tax form for presidential elections). Obama is the first candidate to opt out of the general election funding for presidential candidates since the system was in place in the 1970's.

Barack's excuse is that the system is broken and it needs to be fixed, and he's not going to particiapte in the system until it is fixed. I think most people call this excuse Bullsh*t! And this is from the same party that use to love campaign finance reform? I guess we won't see this issue on the Democrat Party platform in August.

Barack will probably outdo McCain in funding now, in multiples of the $85 million McCain will get in public funding. Wouldn't that make the Barack campaign a windfall?

Shouldn't we charge Obama with a windfall profit tax, since he is getting a windfall and would profit greatly from it? Tax anything above $85 million?

We can put the tax to subsidizing in federal public financing of campaigns, investing in new voting machines in every precinct in America. Education and re-education in public voting.

That would be the fair thing to do.

Libertarians Suck!

Sore loser and former GOP candidate Ron Paul is planning his own convention during the Republican National Convention in early September, just down the street from the Xcel Energy Center.

Paul's campaign thinks they can get 11,000 "Paul-ettes" to his convention even though Paul has 35 delegates to the GOP convention and refuses to endorse McCain for president.

Libertarians: all show and no horse. I don't care if there is 11,000 or 11 million Paul-ettes at Ron Paul's convention. When people need the Libertarians most, when there is legislation on the US House or Senate floor where Democrats think the only solution to life's problem's is a government program, the Libertarians are always a no-show. The Democrats can propose sending all Libertarains to prison camp and the irony would totally escape them.

Ron Paul and the Paul-ettes can showboat on the news all they want to. Libertarians are failures and no-shows when it comes to the legislative process. Libertarians better get their act together before the whole country goes 1984 when Barack Hussein Obama gets in.

One Last Chance To...

Global <strike>warming</strike> <strike>cooling</strike> whatever...

Skiers who are still are not ready for summer to start will get another chance to take to the slopes this weekend.

The Aspen [Colorado] Skiing Company said Monday that it will open up Aspen Mountain from June 13 to 15 for skiers and snowboarders.

The company says record winter snowfall has left the mountain covered with snow, leaving behind an average of more than 3 feet of snow on the upper slopes.

So, for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aspen will open seven runs and about 45 acres of mostly intermediate terrain that is accessible by the Ajax Express chairlift.

Windfall profits tax = lower gas prices?

Democrauts in the US Senate are debating their energy policy today which includes not only repealing the tax breaks we gave the oil companies for energy exploration, but also a windfall profits tax on oil companies. Pundits say it has no chance of passing - this session of Congress anyway.

Nobody has told me or the American people how a windfall profits tax on the oil companies lowers gasoline prices.

As a matter of fact, nobody has told the American people how the Democrat Party's policy of micromanaging the economy will help anybody or any business. How does not exploring for our own energy make us more independent? Why do Democrats tell us to do "global warming" things when they themselves individually and collectively won't get off their butts and do their part against global warming?

And BTW - whatever happen to the ENDA, or the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell?

I know. Elect Democrats. And wait till next year.

And the year after that year...

And the year after that year...

And the year after that year...

Our Long National Nightmare...

I know some of you out there have been asleep or not paying attention to the Democrat-controlled Congress since they have been in power since January 2007. Let me put you up-to-date on what has happened since that historic moment:

First, the Democrat-controlled Congress passed the sweeping ENDA Employment Non-Discrimination Act for all of America's gay and lesbians. No longer will the threat of unemployment hang over your gay little heads. And "Don't Ask Don't Tell": on the ash heap of military policies.

Second, the Democrat-controlled Congress, listening to the will of the American people in the last election, did not give one more penny to the evil George W Bush war machine in Iraq. All of our troops are home safe and sound, and countries all over the world now respect the United States for abandoning their friends in Iraq.

And third, The United States is independent of all foreign oil now since the Democrat-controlled Congress's energy plan rescued us and lowered gasoline prices dramatically. And we didn't even have to drill anywhere at all, saving the arctic polar bear and the Grand Canyon.

Keep Voting Democrat. Promises made. Promises kept.

Glenn and Barr; D-Day

Today is the 64th anniversary of D-Day June 6th 1944. Sometimes it scares me to think what kind of country we would have today if today's Democrats ran World War II. We'd be speaking German and Japanese today, instead of English and Spanish.

Also: CNN Headline News' GLENN BECK all this weekend will have a one hour interview with conservative and former Congressman BOB BARR who is now running as a Libertarian presidential candidate. Bob Barr has come out for the repeal of DON'T ASK DON'T TELL.

As far as my feelings on Libertarians: horrible isolationists foreign policy, great domestic policies, and no backbone to do anything about either. Libertarians are more of a political philosophy than a political action committee.
