The candidate I been working with, Bill McGivern, has been "outed" again! (LOL!)

Actually, a troublemaker in our county GOP party, Richard May, a party ward leader, is upset that McGivern did not declare he was out when he recruit him to run for the state house, May says. He circulated a flyer saying this and much more.

The flyer was sent to Republican leaders in our area.

Bill says he hasn't heard too much one way or the other since the flyer was allegedly distributed - yet. Our local paper, Gay People's Chronicle [GPC], got wind of the memo and published an article this weekend. ARTICLE HERE.

McGivern does support Ken Blackwell for governor in the upcoming election, agreeing with 80% of his agenda. Of course, you can guess which 20 percent Bill's not supporting.

Our local county GOP party was contacted by GPC. Our county GOP leader emailed me and said he was 'nearly quoted correctly'.

What the county GOP leader said to the GPC reporter and emailed me was: "... not all Republicans or democrats for that matter will agree on every social, economic, or legislative issue and that leads to open, effective, and yes even lively conversation at times".

"One of the ways that we can build our Party and incorporate a 'big tent philosophy. Bill McGivern was our candidate before I found out he was gay and Bill is still our candidate today, he is working hard and gaining support from our base."

He said he was quoted correctly on one sentence: "Richard May does not speak for the Party".

Richard May is associated with the more fervent part of "family values" politics. May has been a gadfly for non-gay GOP candidates also like David Lynch when he ran for mayor of Cleveland last year, and recently Ebony Grantonz when she ran for GOP state central committee, using flyers as his main media of attack.

Personally, I think Richard sometimes gets his pigtails in a curl. I think the best revenge will be to win the seat in November.

And on that note...
