Anti-war protesters vow more office takeovers

Peace activists armed with poetry, music, love and affection, plus more goddamned nonsense occupied the Capitol Hill office of Rep. Chris Van Hollen (Md.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Tuesday to protest Democrats' support for a bill funding the Iraq war.

They camped out in his office for nearly eight hours, reading verse and reciting the names and biographies of soldiers killed in Iraq, punctuating each by banging on a gong they had brought with them.

Chuck Barris would be proud of them.

A record-breaking 16 to 20 protesters occupied Van Hollen's office.

Protecting Hillary, at all cost...

The mystery creator of the Orwellian YouTube ad against Hillary Rodham Clinton is a Democratic operative who worked for a digital consulting firm with ties to rival Sen. Barack Obama. Philip de Vellis, a strategist with Blue State Digital, acknowledged in an interview with The Associated Press that he was the creator of the video, which portrayed Clinton as a Big Brother figure and urged support for Obama's presidential campaign.

De Vellis said he resigned from the firm on Wednesday after he learned that he was about to be unmasked by the HuffingtonBlog.com., a liberal news and opinion Internet site.
