Not Ron Paul Again!

I went to Ward 4 Republican club meeting which is on the other side of Cleveland, and we had about a dozen Ron Paul supporters there. I guess they put the meeting as a Meetup for their group.

What the "Paul-ettes" don't believe is that most Republicans would agree on his domestic agenda: repeal of the inheritance tax, physically securing our borders, no amnesty, pro-gun, anti-tax, pro-balanced budget, oppose internet regulation.

What Republicans definitely do not like is Ron Paul's foreign policy. Bring the troops home now? Even if you disagree with the war in the first place, why would you want more innocent people killed by us leaving? Whatever happen to the conservative principle of "you broke it, you fix it"?

Why pull our troops out from all over the world? Why does Ron Paul want to get rid of our intelligence agencies? Why does he keep referring to the United States as an "empire" as if it was comparable to the old Communist Soviet Union? What's wrong with America being a standard-bearer for freedom? Why is America always wrong?

Why does Ron Paul sound like Ronald Reagan on domestic issues and then sound like Dennis Kucinich on foreign policy?

Why
"Even if you disagree with the war in the first place, why would you want more innocent people killed by us leaving?"

Becuase the President's job is to ensure the safety of Americans not Iraqis .. look at Vietnam .. same doom and gloom predictions and now we trade, travel and invest there.

"Whatever happen to the conservative principle of "you broke it, you fix it"?
"

As stated by Ron Paul, the people who pushed this policy broke it and they should be responsible for fixing it not the American people. Those who try to push their mistake on the American people are irresponsible and guilty.

"Why pull our troops out from all over the world? "

Cost: 1 trillion dollars a year we don't have and it is putting us TRILLIONS of dollars in debt at the cost of our currency, our prosperity, our security and our future.

"Why does Ron Paul want to get rid of our intelligence agencies?"

False, Ron Paul wants to have the CIA do intelligence gathering not government toppling, unsanctioned assignations and other actions that are acts of war upon countries that do not threaten us militarily

"Why does he keep referring to the United States as an "empire" as if it was comparable to the old Communist Soviet Union?"

Becuase it is .. we armed Saddam, gave him chemical weapons to use on the Iranians, We had a CIA agent as the president of Panama, we have troops in 120 countries .. how would we feel if the Chinese put a base on our soil so they could protect their interests???

Just becuase we have the power to do this does not make it right.

"What's wrong with America being a standard-bearer for freedom? "

Nothing as long as we do it from being a standard to achieve not to force people by threats and guns. Forcing people to do behave they way we want them by killing them and imprisoning them is not freedom

"Why is America always wrong?":

becuase we have embraced socialism in the forms of the welfare and warfare state as opposed the rule of law as stated by the Constitution.

Re: Why
Where do you begin with a sad commentary like this?

Vietenam is still Communist I thought. After we left MILLIONS died in Vietnam and Cambodia, part of their "re-education" campaigns. How is a president suppose to fix a problem without the help or willingness of the American people? It isn't like George W Bush did this all by himself - he did get Congressional approval every step of the way - look it up!

Defense spending accounts for 20 percent of the federal budget. If you want to complain, look at Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid which takes up twice as much. The CIA will love to do intelligence gathering but I'm sure your own candidate would disagree with you on CIA's chances for survival.

Basically, people DO NOT want a president who blames America first all the time! Your type excuses bad behavior when other countries, when other dictators, thugs, and tyrants kill people. Give them a free pass? Why? We get attacked and its our fault? F*ck that!

You and the Paul-ettes do not think this is a good country. And if you do not think this is a good country, why would anybody want to put your guy Ron Paul in charge of our demise?

I think Paul is a lot more Reagan-esque than you give him credit for. Non-interventionism is a longstanding conservative principle, and Reagan won the Cold War without war. Further, even Reagan recognized the problems with interfering with the affairs of other nations and considered Lebanon one of his bigger failures.

I don't think that just leaving is such a terrible option. Most of what's left to be done is purely domestic stuff and should probably be left to the Iraqis (perhaps funded by us since we did break it, but having us do it seems to tread on their sovereignty)...

If you mean Reagan practiced direct non-war intervention with the Soviets, then yes. But we did have proxy wars during the Cold War. Reagan still took on the Soviets and Communists and dared to call them an evil empire.

United States has to be the weirdest nation on Earth, because when we invade a country for whatever reason we don't claim it as our own. Our flag comes down when the job is done.

The USA is a liberating country and nobody in the USA should be making any apologies when Sad-ham Hussein or any other dictator gets booted out of power by the United States of America. Can you imagine that mindset during WWII? You'd be speaking German by now!

We are slowly giving back sovereignty to the Iraqis - you can tell by the noise the news media is making - or more accurately NOT making. All wars end - and I don't know about you but I like being on the winning side.
